Position: CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATIONResponsibilities: Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools and working closely with the Board of Education and community, the Chief Executive Director of Human Resources and Administration is responsible for the supervision and direction of the District’s comprehensive human resources and labor relations programs and activities for all certificated and civil service staff, including:Ensures compliance with NYS Education Law, Civil Service Law and Commissioner’s Regulations, including certification and senioritySupervises all legal aspects of employment, minimally including background checks, fingerprinting, etc.Align our hiring practices to our Equity Strategic Plan and promote a culturally responsive, diverse workforceManages legal employment issues including disciplinary processes, grievances, arbitration, mediation, PERB matters, etc.Monitors staffing budget allocationsManages employee benefitsFacilitates use of technology tools for human resources data maintenance and reporting, including APPR data Implements compliance training for staffServes as Superintendent’s Hearing OfficerReviews Board Policy and contributes to policy development as it relates to HR functionsSupports probationary staff evaluation/tenure recommendation processManages recruitment and selection processes for the hiring of all staffOversees labor negotiationsOversees employee remuneration as it relates to all contractsCoordinates in Title VI, Title VII and Title IX investigationsEnsures the implementation of the Workplace Violence Prevention ProgramPromotes and fosters a healthy work environment; raises awareness of available programs to assist employees. Implement appropriate employee engagement programs, interpret and drive school's action planning as a result of employee engagement surveys.May lead intra-departmental or organization-wide programs and professional development; projects to develop employee best practices and propose new/modified policies and practices in workforce planning, change management, employee relations/engagement, performance management, employee/leadership development, and/or employee recognition.Lead and/or support additional ad hoc projects as necessary and special projects as needed. Deliver on other special projects as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Include:Minimum 5 years’ experience as a building principal or Director - Human Resources experience a plusStrong interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skillsExperience working effectively in a team settingNY State SDA or SDL certification required Compensation commensurate with experience
