Expectations for high quality, research-based instruction in general education classrooms. Develop and implement universal, classroom-based screening to identify students’ needs for additional support. Develops collaborative, team-based approach to implement and evaluate alternative interventions. Assists in developing a positive environment within classrooms and programs to promote positive and cooperative working relationships. Evaluates and re-evaluates short term behavioral and academic objectives on a regular basis throughout the school year for students with on-going behavior plans. Develops and maintain communication with the students’ teachers, school psychologist, parents, school counselors, social workers, and appropriate outside agencies. Attends student support meetings as needed. Evaluates special education referrals for social emotional support service. Develops solution-focused outcomes for social, emotional, behavioral, and academic issues as they arise. Refers as necessary to Mental Health Services outside of the school environment. Maintains files on students; documentation should include time spent and general content of session and progress. Assists with de-escalation and behavior support as needed. Carries out all other duties as assigned by Director of Student Services.Must possess a valid NYS Certification in School Social Worker Must also possess Clinical or Master Social Worker License; Clinical Social Worker level is preferred Experience with students with special needs preferredMust be able to work collaboratively with the classroom teams 11-month position with full benefits.
